Hey,

The Ice Ferns are currently in Romania playing Division IV World Champs. They've won their first two games 9-1 against South Africa, and 7-2 against Romania. The team includes current Dunedin players Zanzee and Mallory, and former Dunedin players Megan, Tineke, and Lyndal. Both Zanzee and Megan have got goals and assists so far, and also some nice penalties (Zanzee got a charging, who says you need to be big for this game?).

You can follow their progress here http://www.iihf.com/channels/iihf-world-womens-iv-championship/statistics.html

Here's hoping they can continue their winning ways and earn promotion.

Another win - 4-1 against Estonia. They play Iceland, the only other unbeaten team tomorrow, and if they win that, they just have to kick Turkey's butt for the gold medal and promotion.

The women lost to Iceland 5-1 Iceland goalie made 36/37 saves, NZ made 11/16.

They had a similar game to that last year against... Estonia I think? just couldn't get the puck in the back of the net.

Kate Strain plus I assume Susan Green is there and maybe Alyx Anderson as well.

Any others we've missed?

Mary McCutcheon is listed as being a member of the Dunedin Penguins on the official IIHF team roster. Is this correct?

And it looks like Alyx is not playing for them this time.
